TEWKSBURY — Council on Aging postponed chair election after a tied vote in May. The Tewksbury board held competing nominations with Virginia Desmond and Donna Bell each receiving five votes from the ten-member board. Kathy Walsh moved to defer voting until June 16 and the motion carried.
Director Jan Conole reported the center is in good financial shape and highlighted new staff appointments including activities coordinator Jennifer DiFranco and Bachelor of Science intern Brahm Schatia, along with plans to host two Salem State graduate interns pursuing master's degrees in social work during the fall. The center sold 54 Tall Ships tickets and added a second bus to accommodate the 48-person waiting list.
