Finance Committee reviews FY27 budget on conservative growth estimate.

Finance Committee · Meeting of February 2, 2026

TEWKSBURY — Finance Committee reviews Fiscal Year 2027 budget on conservative growth assumptions. Town Manager John Curran presented the framework using a $1 million new growth estimate, setting a total property tax levy limit of $122,015,275 and projecting a $400,000 increase in local aid. Library Director Diane Giarrusso reported a 5.2 percent budget increase driven by cost-of-living adjustments, while the Elections budget rose $80,000 to cover additional balloting and machine maintenance.

Curran flagged ongoing budgetary strain from the town's MBTA Communities Act noncompliance, which has resulted in lost grants and state litigation.
