Library trustees approve three policies; two more slated for review

Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of February 10, 2026

TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Board of Library Trustees unanimously approved three policies governing exhibits, exterior signage, and food and beverages. Chair Christopher Castiglione and five trustees also reviewed revised Behavior and Library Programs policies without taking formal action, with trustee Jonah McCreary proposing additions on social media conduct and repeat offenders. Director Diane Giarrusso reported that dual furnace failures on January 26 prompted Fire Department intervention to protect the sprinkler system, while the after-hours alarm system continues to malfunction.

The Children's Department launched new initiatives including a Dewing School partnership and Boston Bruins-sponsored pajama drive, supported by PFLAG educational programming funded through a Winchester Hospital grant.
