Planning Board approves family suite, rejects major Astle Street development.

Planning Board · Meeting of April 27, 2026

Tewksbury Planning Board approves family suite, rejects Astle Street development. Chair Stephen Johnson and board members voted unanimously to approve a 1,000-square-foot family suite addition at 40 Judith E Drive presented by Shannon O'Neil and Mike Grover. However, all four motions for a mixed-use development at 15 and 41 Astle Street failed 1-4 votes, including waivers and three separate permits: Site Plan Review, Land Disturbance Permit, and Special Permit.

The board also reorganized, electing Johnson Chair, Vincent Fratalia Vice Chair, and Jonathan Ciampa Clerk. A 1325 Main Street Site Plan Review and Special Permit application was continued to May 11 to allow applicants additional time to resolve technical comments and address abutting neighbor concerns over driveway separation.
