Policy Subcommittee reviews entrance age, parental notification, and instructional policies

School Committee · Meeting of April 21, 2026

TEWKSBURY — Policy Subcommittee reviews district rules on instruction and student admissions. The subcommittee, meeting with only Chris Moncada present and Superintendent Brenda Theriault-Regan attending, flagged Policy JEB on entrance age for an Informational Reading and recommended the full School Committee vote to rescind Policy IHAM-1 after finding it duplicative of existing Policy IHAMA on sex education notification. Policies on instructional goals and program evaluation advanced for a First and Final Reading.

Three additional policies were referred to administrators for further review ahead of the May 19 subcommittee meeting.
