Select Board and School Committee authorize MSBA statement of interest for Dewing Elementary

Select Board · Meeting of April 1, 2026

Tewksbury Select Board and School Committee authorize MSBA statement of interest for Dewing Elementary. Both bodies voted unanimously April 1 to empower Superintendent Brenda Theriault-Regan and Town Manager John Curran to submit the application, prioritizing major systems replacement and obsolete building replacement. Principal Doug Roberts of JCJ Consultant presented the timeline, noting that a new school estimated at $147 million could require the town to cover approximately 60 percent of costs, though MSBA reimbursement rates might reach 40 percent.

The April 17 deadline marks the start of a process that could yield occupancy by fall 2033.
