Select Board approves Hillman Energy Center host community agreement

Select Board · Meeting of February 4, 2026

Tewksbury Select Board approves Hillman Energy Center host community agreement. The board unanimously voted to authorize submission of the 37-page agreement to the state Energy Facilities Siting Board as supporting testimony, following town receipt of 37 written resident questions, all answered and posted online. Town Manager John Curran stated the agreement addresses resident concerns, though Vice-Chair Eric Ryder cautioned answers may not satisfy all expectations.

Attorney Jeffrey Bernstein warned the board that without approval and incorporation by the state Siting Board, provisions for financial and safety conditions would not be enforceable by the town.
