Select Board · Meeting of June 23, 2026
Tewksbury Select Board approved a $30,000 affordable housing pilot and ordered an independent Flock assessment. The Board voted 4-1 to fund a one-year program through the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments to preserve potentially lost affordable housing units, with Vice Chair Mark Kratman voting no. In extended public discussion of the town's 20-camera license plate reader system, Police Chief Ryan Columbus defended the technology's law enforcement utility while Board Member James F Mackey III challenged Flock representatives on data security and vendor accountability.
The Board directed staff to commission an independent cybersecurity assessment and draft a Master Service Agreement with Flock for review at summer's end; two motions by Mackey to extend public comment and cease Flock use failed due to lack of a second.
