TEWKSBURY — Select Board responds to Open Meeting Law complaint filed by member. Through Town Counsel Attorney Kevin Feeley, the Board addressed three alleged violations: post-adjournment deliberation on April 21 regarding Housing Authority appointments; similar conduct on December 2, 2025; and untimely processing of a resident's complaint. Feeley argued the April 21 exchange was a procedural question, not deliberation; found the other two allegations time-barred under the 30-day statute of limitations; and noted that while some timelines were missed, the Board is taking corrective steps.
The Select Board will vote May 19, 2026 on a new written Open Meeting Law complaint policy and will conduct mandatory training in late May or early June. Board Member Russo and Clerk Lombardo both voiced support for the procedural improvements.
