Select Board · Meeting of July 14, 2026

Tewksbury Select Board schedules October 6 Special Town Meeting and advances Flock camera legal review. The board, meeting 4-0 without Member Richard Russo Jr., voted unanimously Tuesday to set the fall Special Town Meeting for October 6, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Tewksbury Memorial High School, with the warrant open July 15 through August 21 at 12:30 p.m. Town Manager Caron previewed at least nine warrant articles, including a budget amendment, free cash appropriations, an MBTA Communities Act zoning article, a Shawsheen Tech budget article, and potential high school field lighting funding.

On the town's Flock license plate reader system, Caron said the town is pursuing an engagement letter with attorney Scott Lashway of Mintz to review the master service agreement and draft a broader data use policy; Member James F. Mackey III, the lone dissenter on other matters, warned that any independent cybersecurity assessment "should happen first" before contract negotiations, "to do a fact-finding assessment after a contract is negotiated doesn't make sense." The board continued a proposed town council use policy to August 11 on a 3-1 vote, with Mackey opposed, and approved $1,200 in community donations and a $8,457.50 Town Counsel invoice.
