Zoning Board approves garage ADU on Green Meadow Dr
Tewksbury's Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 to approve a special permit letting Robert and Kaila Keddie convert their garage attic into an accessory dwelling unit.
Zoning Board · Meeting of July 30, 2026
Tewksbury's Zoning Board of Appeals voted 3-0 to approve a special permit letting Robert and Kaila Keddie convert their garage attic into an accessory dwelling unit. Vice Chair Rob Dugan presided in the absence of Chair Nancy Rego, with members Michael Slagle and James Shainker rounding out the voting panel. The Keddies, of 160 Green Meadow Drive, told the board the 1977 garage, which sits 18.8 feet from the front setback where 25 feet is required, would keep its 24-by-32-foot footprint while its lean-to roof becomes a gable.
Kaila Keddie said the plan would house her mother, the family's child care provider, adding "we're not building toward the street or increasing the non-conformity." The board also closed the hearing unanimously before voting to approve, with no public comment offered.
