TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Planning Board voted to continue a contested distribution-facility hearing at 600 Woburn Street to September 14 after abutters renewed objections. Abutter Peter Chase of 19 Park Avenue said neighbors remain "vehemently against this" and may "seek counsel," citing diesel-fume and property-value concerns for the PEPDE Corporation project. Engineer Gene Sullivan said he filed revised plans July 31 and secured a preliminary fire-access sign-off from Captain Sawicki, but the town's peer reviewer had not yet responded.
Separately, the board unanimously approved a three-foot-by-four-foot electronic sign at 1310 Main Street for Tewkmain RE LLC, with conditions requiring upkeep and town access for emergency alerts, and endorsed an approval-not-required plan splitting a lot at 832-836 North Street. Owner representative Jim Albertelli also told the board he had waited roughly a year for restriping fixes at the Walmart City Place plaza on Main Street, saying he watched "cars almost hit each other" at a confusing entrance.
