Tewksbury Planning Board Approves Two Family Suite Permits at January Meeting

TEWKSBURY — January 12, 2026 — Tewksbury Planning Board unanimously approved two family suite special permits and a revised commercial signage plan at its January 12 meeting. The board cleared an 867-square-foot addition at 54 Charles Drive, presented by Paul O'Keefe of O'Keefe and Sons Contracting, to house homeowner Deneen Doucette's elderly parents; a second permit went to Joseph Hubbard of Hubbard Construction for a one-bedroom suite at 100 Jenny's Way, which will include a full sewer tie-in from an existing septic system. On the signage front, architect Christina McMahon of CAC secured board approval to update the master signage plan for the mixed-use development at 910 Andover Street, swapping a French bistro aesthetic for a 1950s diner look for the future Elena's Donuts cafe; the revised sign measures roughly 4 feet 2 inches tall and just over 7 feet long — smaller in total area than permitted by right but slightly taller in height, a trade-off the board accepted while reserving the right to review final lighting shop drawings. A fifth agenda item, 485 Main Street, was continued to February 9 at the applicant's request.
